SalesCo Pilot

Background:

The SalesCo pilot is a test project to train and mentor volunteers to provide agreed sales support for eight businesses in the Valleys. The project is supported by Job Match, Go Wales and Welsh Contact Centre Forum Ltd.

The training is to a standard accredited by the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management and is supplemented with call handling training. Pairs of trained volunteers are then provided with an unpaid opportunity to spend between 2-10 days in a business in the Valleys.

Typical projects might be: making appointments for sales teams, following-up quotations or a marketing campaign or gathering customer service feedback. Volunteers and host businesses must register their interest by 30 November 2010. The training is in January 2011 and placements during Jan / Feb. 2011.

Aims:

  • To decide if the SalesCo resource pool is commercially viable
  • To confirm the need for the service
  • To identify a pool of volunteers to be trained for hire
  • To agree the eight businesses to participate in the pilot
  • To pilot the sales resource and evaluate customer benefits
  • To decide if SalesCo has been of benefit to all stakeholders
